birds on my porch
I bring you the 2010 edition of  "Birds on my Porch." This year we may have two competing nest going at the same time.

Several years ago, I noted that my porch was being used as a nesting place for birds. That year I took pictures of the nest each day and posted them here. There were two batches of birds that year. Due to a hard drive failure I lost the first set of pictures, but I still have the second set: Birds on my Porch 2007.
In 2008 there were no clutches of eggs, but the birds returned in 2009: Birds on my Porch 2009.
location of the nest: We are located in the Greenwood/Phinney/Very North Ballard area of Seattle.

The nests are in a depression in the top of a pillar on the South West and South East corners of our front porch.
A picture of the Male bird of the pair.

UPDATE: I thought these appeared to be Purple Finches. They have now been identificd  as House Finches.
